Today we got together to harvest and dry some more pears from a local fruit tree near Sol Feliz Farm. While some of us were doing that, others of us were cleaning up the school grounds and identifying the area we would like to construct our horno base, starting tomorrow.
After this, we proceeded to Parr Field to check on our crops. The corn is starting to tassel and there are many flowers on the squash that will become fruits. There are many beans starting to flower as well, with some plants starting to produce. We will have to get out here again when we have more time and harvest more! But we were at least able to get some calabacitas (young squash) and alberjon (peas) so our Sembradores youth group could get a taste of the benefits of working the land!
