Today we work on the third and final growing “bed” of the Parr Field Garden Project. I say “bed” because I am “rows” type of farmer. I have read criticisms of the row method in favor of raised beds but I have my reasons and justifications for making rows. Rows create surface area and micro-topography in your garden which aid in water retention and other Permaculture dynamics. Rows are efficient for irrigation and production. We were lucky and honored to have some staff and students of Chrysalis help us with this soil preparation today.
